Growing up, Dr. Obholz was always petrified of going to the dentist. She grew up in the former Soviet Union, and after coming to the United States, she immediately took advantage of the superior medical and dental care. She ended up going to the dental clinic at the University of Minnesota and was diagnosed with 13 cavities! During the process of getting everything fixed (which took a long time), she became friends with her student-dentist, learned more about the profession, and decided to become a dentist herself.
