Dr. Yelena Obholz received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and her D.D.S. degree from New York University College of Dentistry.  She completed a residency at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, where she did advanced work in periodontics, oral surgery and prosthodontics.  She worked in private practice in Maryland before opening her own office in Washington DC.

Dr. Obholz is committed to keeping her dental skills up to date and spends many hours each year taking continuing dental education classes. She is currently enrolled in the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.  Dr. Obholz resides nearby in Kensington, MD with her husband and three children.

Dental Hygienist Mindy Peterson was the top graduate of her dental hygiene class in Baltimore. Mindy has been in practice for over 32 years and is licensed in the District of Columbia. 

Mindy’s wonderful energy can put a smile on your face. She looks forward to your next visit and cleaning.

Dental Hygienist Shiva Ossareh, a native of Iran, received a BS in biology from George Mason University, and completed her dental hygiene degree with honors at Howard University in 1999. She has been practicing in the Washington area ever since, and joined our practice in the summer of 2010.  Shiva is fluent in Farsi and is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association.  She lives in Virginia, and enjoys outdoor activities, including biking and hiking.

Dental Assistant Alec Li, a native of Russia, enjoys assisting Dr. Obholz and is devoted to providing uncompromising clinical care. Alec’s love for dentistry comes from the fact that he has a D.D.S. degree from Moscow University of Medicine and Dentistry and is pursuing his dental license in the United States. Mr. Li is X-ray, CPR, and Invisalign certified. Alec enjoys cycling and skiing and resides in Rockville, Maryland.
